Tapiture colt steps up in allowance win

Axiomo became Taptiture’s second repeat winner in the past week when the 2-year-old colt scored by 4 1/2-lengths in an Indiana Downs allowance contest on July 24.

Axiomo broke his maiden on debut June 21 on the Churchill Downs turf, and handled the switch to the main track on Wednesday with ease. Off the pace in the first quarter-mile, he moved up on the turn, took over soon after entering the stretch and strode clear to win handily.

The winner is owned by Olympia Star Inc. and was bred by Kidder & Cole. Axiomo’s dam Song to the Moon also produced this year’s Davona Dale S. (G2) winner Jeltrin as well as the multiple stakes-placed Purple Heaven.

Tapiture has seven winners overall from his first crop to date, led by Sky of Hook, winner of Saratoga’s $100,000 Rick Violette S. at week ago, and, like Axiomo, is undefeated in two starts.
