Dialed In’s precocious 2-year-old son Dial It Down made it two stakes wins in a row with his victory in the $132,000 Prairie Meadows Freshman S. Aug. 15 at the central Iowa track.
Winner of the Iowa Stallion Futurity on July 25, Dial It Down pressed the pace in Saturday night’s six-furlong contest right from the start. Pearly Mischief led the way through a quarter-mile with Dial It Down just a length behind. Around the turn, Dial It Down steadily closed in on the pacesetter and was on even terms at the top of the stretch. Pearly Mischief made it close for until the final furlong, when Dial It Down began to pull clear. Dormie made a late run, but could get no closer than a length at the wire.
Dial It Down is now 3-0-1 in four starts and has earned $192,525 for owners Jason Riggs, and Carmen, Josie & Michelle McShane. The dark bay was bred by Christine Hicklin, DVM and is the first foal out of multiple stakes-placed mare Zofia.
