Tale of Ekait filly surges late for first stakes win

The Beauty’s Tale overcame a very wide trip to win Wednesday’s $75,000 Florence Henderson S. at Indiana Downs, the first black type win for the 4-year-old daughter of Tale of Ekati.

The dark bay filly is the 30th lifetime stakes horse for her sire and fifth this year, while his lifetime progeny earnings have surpassed $15 million.

The Beauty’s Tale, owned by Willowbrook Stables and Jerry Carden, has been very consistent throughout her career, finishing in the top three in 12 of 20 starts and earning $221,388.

Bred by Dawn Martin and Charles Fipke, The Beauty’s Tale is the first foal out of Yuckon Dance.
