Saturday stakes double for Tapiture

Chicks Dig Scars won his stakes debut on Saturday night at Prairie Meadows, just hours after Hopeful Growth won the Monmouth Oaks (G3) to give Tapiture two stakes winners for the day (VIDEO).

Chicks Dig Scars, who has crossed the wire first in all three of his starts, won the 5 1/2-furlong Iowa Stallion Futurity by three lengths in front-running fashion. The winner is owned by his trainer Travis Murphy.

Bred in Kentucky by Bob and Alice Austin, Chicks Dig Scars is a half-brother to stakes winner King Congie, while his dam Wise Ending earned $336,278 and has three stakes-winning siblings.

Tapiture has four stakes winners and six stakes horses overall this year, and leads all Second-Crop sires with 51 individual winners to date.
