Klimt filly wins maiden special weight duel against colts

Klimt got his third winner from his first crop of runner on June 30 when Baytown Valleygirl defeated colts in a 4 1/2-furlong maiden special weight race at Mountaineer Park.

The winner battled with Golden Hughes the entire trip, never more than a length apart at any point, with a neck separating them at the wire (VIDEO).

Baytown Valleygirl is owned by Wagner Racing and McEntee Racing Inc. and trained by Paul McEntee. She was bred in Kentucky by Pegasus Stud LLC.

A Grade 1 winner at two, Klimt has covered an average of 193 mares in his first three seasons at Darby Dan. Among his first winners is the filly Candy Slim, a Group 2 winner in Russia, and the ultra-impressive Santa Anita maiden special weight winner Loverherheart.
