Tapiture, the leading Second-Crop sire of winners, will have his first Breeders’ Cup starter Saturday at Keeneland with Jesus’ Team in the $1 million Dirt Mile (G1).
The 3-year-old colt finished third last time out in the Oct. 3 Preakness S. (G1) and had a similar finish in the Jim Dandy S. (G2) just prior to that. In 11 starts he has earned $256,640 for Grupo 7C Racing Stable.
Jesus’ Team drew post 11 in the field of 12 and will be ridden by Luis Saez. The Dirt Mile is race 6 and will be run at 1:18 p.m. ET.
Jesus’ Team was bred in Kentucky by Pamela Gartin and is the second foal out of Golden Memories. His third dam All My Memories is the dam of the outstanding mare Memories of Silver, a multiple Grade 1 winner of $1,448,715.
In addition to leading the Second-Crop list by winners, he also leads by wins with 96, and is in the top five by progeny earnings and stakes horses. His fee for 2021 is $10,000 S&N.
