Danuska’s My Girl rides hot streak in Desert Stormer S. (G3)

Danuska’s My Girl, a 5-year-old daughter of Shackleford, won her second straight graded stakes and her fourth consecutive start with a victory in the $100,000 Desert Stormer S. (G3) on May 19 at Santa Anita Park.

Owned by Bad Boy Racing, Danuska’s My Girl won the Las Flores S. (G3) in April and hasn’t lost since last October. Her record now stands at 5-2-4 in 14 starts, with earnings of $258,810.

With just three runners in the six-furlong contest, Danuska’s My Girl battled side-by-side with Yuvetsi for the first half-mile, then pulled away in the stretch and held off Show It N Moe It by about three-quarters of a length to score the win.

The winner was bred by Fernandez-Robles Family Trust and Flying H Stables. Out of Amaday, she is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Vieja Luna.

Danuska’s My Girl topped a terrific weekend for Shackleford, who had seven winners at six different tracks. Shackleford is currently fourth on the Fourth Crop Sire list with just under $2 million in progeny earnings.
