Jersey Pearl wraps up 2025 with Poinsettia S. victory

Bee Jersey’s Jersey Pearl made her final start of the year a winning one with a two-length victory in the $150,000 Poinsettia S. Dec. 21 at Oaklawn Park.

The 5-year-old chestnut has been a model of consistency throughout her career, winning or placing in seven stakes races, including the Prioress S. (G2) at Saratoga. Owned by Silverton Hill LLC, Jersey Pearl has been off the board only once in the past two years and sports an overall record of 6-3-3 in 15 starts, with earnings of $629,022.

Jersey Pearl was prominent from the outset of Sunday’s 5 ½-furlong sprint, pressing Kant Believe It through the first half mile, then took command turning for home. She held off all challengers in the lane, edging clear in the final sixteenth to finish in 1:04.17 on a fast track.

Jersey Pearl was bred in Kentucky by Charles Fipke and hails from a female family rich with stakes winners. Her dam Jersey’s Soul is a half-sister to Cigar Mile (G1) winner Jersey Town, and second dam Jersey Girl was a three-time Grade 1 winner.

Bee Jersey, who won the Metropolitan H. (G1), will stand for $5,000 S&N in 2026.
