Flameaway didn’t take long at all to make his mark on the OBS Spring 2-year-old sale when hip No. 5 sold for $200,000 during the opening minutes of the Tuesday session.
Consigned by Grassroots Training & Sales, LLC, agent, the colt was purchased by Dennis O’Neill.
Grassroots obtained the colt for $50,000 at last year’s Texas Thoroughbred Association Yearling sale.
The bay colt is out of Grade 3 winner Acting Naughty. Among her four winners are track record holder Offlee Naughty.
Multiple graded stakes winner Flameaway, whose first crop are 2-year-olds this year, has 10 lots remaining in the auction, which runs through Friday.
