Flameaway latest Saratoga success came during Tuesday’s closing session of the New York-bred Select Yearlings sale when hip No. 582 brought a winning bid of $180,000.

Francis and Barbara Vanlangendock’s Summer was the agent for breeder Go-To-Toga Racing, LLC, with Julie Davis, agent, the winning bidder for the bay filly.

The filly is the second foal out of the Maclean’s Music mare Gran Lucky Girl, who is a half-sister After the Tone. This is the same family as Grade 1 winners Bell’s the One, Dream Empress and Yonaguska.

Flameaway finished the sale with an average price of $99,200, more than 13 times his stud fee.

A five-time stakes winner across three seasons of racing, Flameaway finished ahead of eventual champion Vino Rosso on three occasions, all of them in graded stakes. He stood the 2022 season for $7,500 S&N.
