Copper Em’s effortless 4 1/4-length maiden special weight win on June 30 at Ellis Park gave Copper Bullet his third winner from his first crop, which tops the Freshman Sire to date this year.

Copper Em came out of the gate running in the five-furlong contest and made her way to the lead and the inside before entering the turn. She got some pressure from Bella Haze just before entering the stretch, but easily shook her off and rolled down the lane to a very impressive victory (WATCH RACE).

Copper Em finished the distance on the “good” main track in :56.87, less than a half-second off the track record.

Bred by Winning Bloodstock and owned by Winchell Thoroughbreds LLC, Copper Em earned $69,600 in victory.

Copper Bullet, a son of leading sire More Than Ready, was a graded stakes winner at two himself, winning the Saratoga Special (G2). In addition to his trio of winners this summer, Copper Bullet’s juveniles have produced excellent results in the auction ring as well, averaging more than 13 times his stud fee.
