Axiomo earned his third career win Saturday at Churchill Downs, getting up in the final furlong of a $105,000 allowance race to win by three-quarters of a length.
After winning his first two starts, Axiomo has had a steady diet of stakes races before Saturday. He finished third in the $200,000 Indian Summer S. at Keeneland and is now 3-0-1 in eight starts and has earned $163,936.
Axiomo was last in the compact field of five before finding an opening in mid-stretch, when he swiftly made the lead to get the five furlongs on a sloppy track in :58.56.
Axiomo was bred in Kentucky by C. Kidder and N. Cole and is a half-brother to this year’s Davona Dale S. (G2) winner Jeltrin.
Tapiture has a total of 21 winners to date, second-most on the First-Crop Sire list. Darby Dan recently announced his 2020 fee will by $7,500, stands and nurses.
