Touchdown Arkansas became the newest stakes winner for Bee Jersey Saturday at Oaklawn Park with his gallant victory in the $150,000 Nodouble S.
The lightly-raced 5-year-old was making just his sixth lifetime start, and his first stakes outing since debuting in the 2024 Rainbow S., also at Oaklawn. The chestnut got a good stalking trip in third while three wide down the backstretch and around the turn. After turning for home, he set his sights on pacesetter Bohemian Bo, ultimately running him down in deep stretch to win by three-quarters of a length.
The winner is owned by Lewis E. Mathews, Jr. and was bred by Eugene Branum & Linda Branum. His record now stands at 3-1-0 in six starts, with earnings of $257,500.
Bee Jersey is the sire of a dozen black-type horses. He stands this year for $5,000 S&N.
