First Foal for Millionaire Suave a Colt
January 16, 2008

The first reported foal sired by Grade II winner Suave is a colt born Jan. 8 at Donna Wormser’s farm in Ocala, Fla. Bred by Wormser, the colt is the first foal for the 5-year-old mare Happy Valentine, whose dam is a half sister to millionaire and GI winner Jolie’s Halo.

Suave set the track record at Arlington Park while on his way to victory in the GII Washington Park Handicap in 2006. He retired with $1,348,423 in earnings.  A 7-year-old son of A. P. Indy out of the multiple GI winning Citidancer mare Urbane, Suave stands at Darby Dan Farm in Lexington, KY. Suave’s 2008 fee is $17,500.

How Fast is Fast?
January 20, 2007

By now you have probably heard of our new millionaire son of A.P. Indy- SUAVE. What you may not have heard is how FAST he was on the track. While winning the GII Arlington Washington Handicap, Suave stopped the clock at 1:31.88 for a mile and crossed the finish line in 1:53.53 - a new track record for 1 3/16 mile. Consider - his track record is faster than A.P. Indy sons Bernardini, Mineshaft, and Golden Missile ran their respective 1 3/16 mile races.

Suave is out of the outstanding racemare Urbane. A millionaire and multiple GI winner, Urbane amassed 7 stakes wins from 2 to 4 as well as three second place finishes in GI races - two of which were to Champion Serena's Song.

Suave's book will be limited to 125 mares and only handful of seasons remain in his 2007 book. To be considered, please contact us to submit your mare(s) as soon as possible to ensure that space is available.

Suave to stand at Darby Dan Farm
September 07, 2006

SUAVE, a son of A. P. Indy bred by Mace and Samantha Siegel out of their GI winning millionaire Urbane, will be retired to Darby Dan Farm in Lexington, KY at the conclusion of his 2006 racing career.

A millionaire, multiple graded stakes winner, and track record-setter in graded competition - SUAVE won graded events at Churchill, Saratoga and Arlington Park. Those wins include the G2 Saratoga Breeders’ Cup Handicap and G2 Washington Park Handicap (NTR – 1:53.53). He also finished second at Belmont in the 2005 GI Jockey Club Gold Cup. Trained by Paul McGee, Suave has seven lifetime wins and has earned over $1.3 million.

Suave’s dam is the multiple Grade I winning mare Urbane, who captured the GI Ashland at Keeneland and the GI John A. Morris Handicap at Saratoga. A daughter of Citidancer, Urbane traces her roots to the heralded blue hen mare Dumfries, dam of legendary sire Lyphard.

John Phillips, co-managing partner of Darby Dan Farm, said “A son of A. P. Indy who could carry natural speed has been a goal of Darby Dan for some time. Suave caught our attention in a big way with his track record at Arlington. With Urbane and the strength of his female family, Suave has all the criteria to be a successful sire.”
