A multiple graded stakes winning miler with earnings of over $1,300,000, Hap is by Theatrical out of three time group one winner and twice European Champion Sprinter, Committed.

Hap is an outcross for the Mr. Prospector and Raise a Native lines. His sire, Theatrical, is responsible for four stakes winners, including grade one scorers Geri and Startac, out of mares by Mr. Prospector, and has three more stakes winners out of mares by sons of Mr. Prospector (Gulch, Miswaki and Machiavellian). Theatrical has also worked with Raise a Native via Alydar and his son Turkoman, and Raise A Man (grade one winner, Run Man Run).

Hap's granddam is bred on very similar lines to Seattle Slew, and Theatrical has three stakes winners out of Seattle Slew mares, including grade one winner Astra. Theatrical has excelled with Bold Ruler line mares in general, other strains which have worked including What A Pleasure, Raja Baba, Bold Bidder and Secretariat and Tyrant. Theatrical also has two graded stakes winners, one grade one out of mares descending from Bold Ruler's sire, Nasrullah, via Riverman (by Never Bend), and a graded stakes winner out of mare by Nasrullah's grandson Star de Naskra. Theatrical also has three stakes winners, two graded out of mares by Nasrullah descendent, Blushing Groom.

Theatrical has a grade one winner out of a mare by Sir Ivor, and son of Sir Gaylord. This is the Turn-to male line (which has worked well with Theatrical's sire, Nureyev) and Theatrical also has two stakes winners out of mares descending from Turn-to via Hail to Reason, including milloinaire Strut the Stage, who is out of a mare by Roberto's son, Red Ransom. We can also note Theatrical's grade one winner, Royal Anthem: he is out of a mare by Ack Ack, a horse whose dam is by Turn-to, and is a three-quarters genetic relative to Sir Gaylord.
