Darby Dan 2008 Triple Crown Fantasy Stakes - Sponsored by SUN KING!

Round 1 Results Posted

Congratulations to Bsamw85 the winner of Round 1.  7 contestants correctly chose the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers.  Bsamw85 selected Big Brown winning by 4 lengths as the tiebreak - amazingly close!  Round 2 will open once odds are posted for the Preakness.

Here is your chance to prove your Triple Crown horse-picking prowess and compete for your choice of a Sun King season or a royal day of racing!  Best of all it's FREE to play!

Here's how it works…Begin by registering. After the odds are posted for the Kentucky Derby, horse selection will open for round one. Each player will login to make their selections. 50 "Darby Dollars" will be given to each player for the purchase of three horses. The purchase price for each horse will be based upon the morning line odds.  Although three horses must be selected, all Darby Dollars do not have to be spent.  Be sure to indicate who will be the winner and by how many lengths (without going over!).  **Note** - the winner that you choose does not have to be one of the 3 you "buy".  It is used only in the case of a tie for the grand prize.

Derby selections will close at 4 p.m. Saturday May 3rd.  After the race is declared official, points will be awarded to each horse in the player's stable based upon their finish positions. Total available points for the race are determined in advance by the number of entries for the race.  For each race, the maximum number of points will be 100 for a full field (20 starters for the Derby, 14 for the Preakness, and 12 for the Belmont).  For a 20 horse Derby field, 100 points will be awarded to the first place finisher, 70 for second, 50 for third, etc. - down to one point for the last place finisher.  If the Preakness only has 7 entrants, first place will receive 50 points, second 35, etc.

The player who accumulates the most points in each race will receive $100.  In the case of a tie, the winner will be determined by the player who correctly selected the winner and most closely guessed the winning lengths without going over.

The grand prize winner will be the player who gains the most points through all three rounds. In the case of a tie, the winner will be the player who selected the greatest number of winners throught race series.  The grand prize winner will receive their choice of:

  1. A free breeding to Sun King for use in the 2009 breeding season.
  2. 2 reserve seating tickets for the 2009 Breeders' Cup at Santa Anita Park.
