Top-10 Freshman Sire Shackleford got his second TDN Rising Star from his first crop on Saturday when Wellabled rocketed to a 7 1/2-length maiden special weight score in a five-furlong contest at Arlington Park.

Making his racing debut the bay 2-year-old bound right to the lead out of the gate and never looked back, pulling away with ease in the stretch to stop the timer in :57.68 under a hand ride (VIDEO).

Wellabled was bred in Kentucky by PTS Ranch and is owned by Carolyn Wilson, who purchased the colt for $340,000 out of the OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds this April.

The winner is out of Expressive Diva, a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Ringaskiddy.

Shackleford now has five winners from his first crop, all in maiden special weight events.
