Undefeated Shacklefords Lady wins third straight

Shacklefords Lady kept her record intact with a stirring allowance victory Thursday at Charles Town Races, winning the 6 1/2-furlong allowance contest by a neck in front-running style.

The 3-year-old Shackleford filly is undefeated in three starts, with her previous two wins coming by large margins at Penn National. Thursday's win was her first start against older horses, which 3-year-olds rarely do this early in the year.

Shacklefords Lady has picked up $52,920 in her three wins for owner Richard Dancsok. The filly is a direct descendant of Lt. Lao, a multiple graded stakes winner who set or equaled track records at 1 1/16-miles and 1 1/8-miles.

Rebel S. (G2) winner Malagacy, who is also undefeated in three starts, tops Shackleford's list of 17 winners this year. Shackleford is currently the only Second-Crop sire with at least $1 million in progeny earnings.
