Undefeated Run Away and Hide has first foal

Undefeated Grade 2-winning juvenile Run Away and Hide sired his first foal on Jan. 24 when a filly was born at Chesapeake Farm in Lexington.

Bred by Nick Nardiello, the bay filly (pictured) is out of Brahms mare Office Party, who was once a $200,000 auction purchase and hails from the immediately family of Miswaki.

Run Away and Hide, now a 4-year-old, was a leading juvenile of 2008. He broke his maiden impressively at first asking at Keeneland before returning 13 days later to win the Kentucky S. (G3) on Kentucky Derby weekend at Churchill Downs.

Run Away and Hide capped off an undefeated 2-year-old season by winning the Saratoga Special S. (G2) in 1:15.67 – a new stakes record. He stands at Darby Dan Farm in Lexington where he’ll embark on his second season at stud in 2010 for a fee of $7,500. Run Away and Hide bred 101 mares from his first book.
