Tickled Pink's handy maiden special weight win Sunday at Laurel Park marked the 11th winner of the year for Shackleford, which tops all sires on the Second-Crop Sire list.

The 3-year-old filly was vying for the lead right out of the gate, but jockey Trevor McCarthy took the chestnut off the pace. In hand the entire time, Tickled Pink commenced a rally on the turn and glided to the lead. With McCarthy handling her with supreme confidence, Tickled Pink came home a 1 1/4-length winner in 1:38 flat for the one-turn mile.

Tickled Pink is out of the stellar broodmare Champagne Royale, whose foals include Arkansas Derby (G1) winner Danza and Gold Cup (G1) winner Majestic Harbor. Bred by Brandywine Farm, Tickled Pink sold for $250,000 at the 2015 Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

The winner is owned by Burning Daylight Farms and Rebecca Galbraith and picked up $22,800 for her debut win.
