Guava Girl won a four-horse blanket blanket finish to break her maiden Sept. 11 at Arlington Park in her second career start. She is the fifth winner, and fifth maiden special weight winner for Sun King, who ranks among the top 20 North American first-crop sires.

Breaking on top in the 5 1/2-furlong affair, Guava Girl took her spot along the rail around the turn. Spurting away in mid stretch to open up by three lengths, the bay filly had a trio of challengers in the final sixteenth, but outgamed the group to win by a neck.

Guava Girl is bred and owned by Greg Besinger. She is now 1-1-0 after two starts, earning $28,104.
