Shoshana broke her maiden in fine fashion recently as the 3-year-old daughter of Sun King rolled home a 3 1/4-length winner at Gulfstream Park in her first start of 2012. The chestnut filly is from the first crop by her sire, who is standing the 2012 season at Darby Dan for $10,000 LFS&N.

Shoshana stalked the pace for the majority of the 1 1/16 mile trip, taking over about a quarter mile from the finish, then drew away smartly in the lane to secure the victory.

Shoshana was bred in Kentucky by her owner Hurricane Boys LLC, and like her sire, is trained by Nick Zito. Shoshana is one of three winners out of Cape Fog, who has produced the multiple stakes-placed colt The Great Caper.
