Sun King's latest impressive winner from his first crop came on July 26, when Sun Country rolled to a nine-length win going six furlongs at Prairie Meadows. The 2-year-old colt dueled for the first half-mile before drawing off in the stretch. (VIDEO)

Sun Country is owned by his breeders Richard Bremer and Cheryl Sprick. The chestnut colt finished fourth in the $107,000 Iowa Stallion Futurity July 8 in his career debut. He has now earned $19,481 in two starts. Sun Country is out of Thigh High Boots, whose only other foal is four-time stakes winner Bet Your Boots.

Sun King has already been represented by three maiden special weight winners and four more who have been on the board in maiden special events. His son Legalis won in Europe on turf while Valid Jet was a seven-length winner on dirt. The 9-year-old stallion had a full book of mares his first three years at stud while standing at Darby Dan for $10,000 LFS&N.
