Suave's Slick Vic glides home an easy winner

Slick Vic handed freshman sire Suave his 12th winner with a comfortable 4 1/2-length maiden win at Parx, formerly Philadelphia Park, on Nov. 23.

The dark bay/brown 2-year-old had the lead at every call in the seven furlong race and was never seriously threatened as the 4-5 favorite.

Slick Vic was bred in Kentucky by Harlingen Stables. He is out the Cherokee Run mare Coincidence, who is a half sister to two stakes-placed runners; Cozy Gain and Ethan's Car.

Suave has been among the nation's Top 20 freshman sires for nearly all of 2010. His four repeat winners ranks fourth among all freshman sires. His first stakes winner came at Hastings Park on Aug. 26 when Tlaquepaque won the $50,000 New Westminster S.
