First-crop sire Shackleford’s highwater mark during the first day of the March 15-16 OBS March Sale of Selected Sale of 2-year-olds in Training was a $160,000 filly purchased by Patricia’s Hope LLC, a full eight times his 2016 stud fee of $20,000.

The filly, consigned by Wavertree Stables and cataloged as hip No. 29, breezed a bullet :09 4/5 seconds during the Under Tack Show.

The Kentucky bred chestnut is out of the stakes winner Into Reality, who is also the dam of the stakes winner Meadowood.
Shackleford has a total of six lots cataloged for Thursday’s concluding session of the auction.
