Shackleford continues strong run at OBS 2yo sale

The returns for first-crop sire Shackleford ended on a high note during day 2 of the OBS March Sale of Selected 2-year-olds in Training, which concluded on March 16.

Shackleford had a personal sale-best on Wednesday when hip No. 432, consigned by Eddie Woods, agent, brought a winning bid of $180,000 from Blue Devil Racing Stable.

The colt, who had worked 10 seconds flat during the Under Tack Show, is out of Bestowed a Star, who is a full sister to graded stakes winner Taqarub and a half-sister to graded winner Recepta. This is also the same family as Eclipse Champion Turf Mare Soaring Softly and Grade 1 winner Plenty of Grace.
