Shackleford colt wins MdSpWt in convincing style

Left with some four lengths to make up entering the stretch, Cape Lookout rallied strongly in the Parx stretch to win his 6 1/2-furlong maiden special weight contest going away by 1 1/2-lengths.

The chestnut son of Shackleford is the 14th winner for freshman sire Shackleford, who has also produced such top runners as Grade 3 winner Wellabled and the graded stakes-placed Madrugador. 

Cape Lookout was bred in Kentucky by Clearsky Farms and is owned by Harry and Tom Meyerhoff LLC. The Meyerhoff's raced champion sire Broad Brush. The Meyerhoff acquired Cape Lookout for $100,000 at the 2015 Keeneland September Yearling sale.
