Perfect Soul's multiple graded stakes performer Seeking the Soul powered to a track-record performance in a Keeneland allowance on Oct. 21, winning the 1 1/16-mile main track affair by a whopping nine lengths in 1:41.36 on a fast surface (VIDEO).

The previous mark was 1:42.51, set by Only in America during the 2014 Fall Meet.

Away in good order, Seeking the Soul relaxed in fourth for much of the trip, until just outside the quarter pole, when he accelerated rapidly and ran right by the field. The bay colt ran away on his own in the stretch without urging from Brian Hernandez, Jr., coming home the easiest of winners.

Seeking the Soul, who placed in the Lukas Classic (G3) last month at Churchill Downs, is now 4-3-5 in 16 starts and has banked $253,562.

The winner is owned and bred by Charles Fipke, who also campaigned Perfect Soul to a track-record performance in Keeneland's Maker's Mile (G2) on the turf. Seeking the Soul's dam Seeking the Title, was a Grade 3 winner in her own right, while his third dam is the immortal Personal Ensign.

Perfect Soul's 2018 stud fee was recently announced at $2,000, live foal stands and nurses.
