Dallas Stewart's homebred 2-year-old Tale of Ekati colt Saint's Fan scored his second straight impressive victory Saturday at Fair Grounds with a two-length victory in the $100,000 Louisiana Champions Day Juvenile.

Tale of Ekati has steadily been moving up the ranks on the 2016 Third-Crop Sire list in the past two months, and now has 13 stakes horses this year.

Saint's Fan made his debut Nov. 4 at Churchill Downs, winning his maiden special weight contest by a convincing 1 3/4-lengths. As he did that day, he rallied from well off the pace in the Juvenile with a striking move in the stretch to win by two lengths in 1:10.74 for the six furlongs on a fast track.

“We were a bit wide from the outside post, but we knew we had the best horse so I rode him like he was the best horse,” jockey Brian Hernandez, Jr. said. “I don’t think you’ve seen the best of him yet.”

Also trained by Stewart, Saint's Fan has banked $92,700 in his two outings.
