Heaven's Runway galloped to a 3 1/4-length to break his maiden [VIDEO] Saturday at Presque Isle Downs. He is the fourth winner for first-crop sire Run Away and Hide. The Darby Dan stallion has $175,000 in progeny earnings and four winners to date, both good for third on the first-crop sire list.
Heaven's Runway, a K. K. and V. Devi Jayaraman homebred came from third to take over the top spot a furlong from the wire, drawing off late under only token urging. The bay colt finished the 5 1/2-furlongs in 1:05.39.
The winner is out of Heavens Passport and is a half-brother to Holy Heavens, winner of the 2011 Martha Washington S. and also placed in the Grade 2 Fantasy S. and the Grade 3 Honeybee S., all at Oaklawn Park.
