Mico Margarita rolled to an 8 3/4-length victory in Saturday evening's $60,000 Oak Hall S. at Evangeline Downs, with the 4-year-old son of Run Away and Hide setting a track record of 1:08.37 for the six furlongs (VIDEO).

The winner broke from the gate in good order, but when a trio of speedsters went for the lead, Mico Margarita settled back in fourth, about five lengths from the front. Not asked to pick up the pace until just inside the quarter pole, he came rolling by the pacesetters in mid-stretch to win going away.

Already a proven top-class horse, Mico Margarita won last year's Carry Back S. (G3) and also finished second in the Grade 2 Amsterdam S. at Saratoga. He was also second in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint during his 2-year-old season. He has now earned $310,675.

Mico Margarita is owned by J. Kirk and Judy Robinson, who purchased him at the 2011 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Yearling sale. Mico Margarita was bred in Kentucky by Ron Kirk and Greg McDonald out of the Mineshaft mare Wide Range, who is out of the Grade 2 winning mare Ivanavinalot.
