Champion Perfect Soul (Ire) sired the top-priced colt at the selected session of the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society yearling sale on September 7th.
The dark bay or brown yearling sold for $114,473 ($120,000 Canadian) to William Werner, from the consignment of Cara Bloodstock (Bernard McCormack), agent.
Hip #209 of 225 catalogued for the session is out of the Woodman mare Timber Ice, a full sister to French two-year-old champion Way of Light. The second dam meanwhile, is a half-sister to three Group 1 stakes winners, including European champion and world-class sire Machiavellian, and champion and world-class producer Coup de Genie.
Perfect Soul has now sired eight stakes horses and earners of more than $3,000,000 from his first two crops to race. He stood the 2010 season at Darby Dan for $15,000.
