Charles Fipke homebred Perfect Shirl comes into the Nov. 4 Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf (G1) off a top effort in the Grade 2 Canadian S. on Sept. 18, where she finished full of run to get beat just a half length.

A 4-year-old daughter of Darby Dan stallion Perfect Soul, Perfect Shirl drew post 8 in the $2 million, 1 3/8 mile turf marathon. The bay filly has hit the board in seven of ten grass outings, including a win in the Grade 2 Lake George S. at Saratoga.

As the eighth race on Friday, the Filly and Mare Turf runs at 6:50 p.m.

Perfect Shirl is one of five stakes horses in 2011 by her sire. His top earner this year is Check Your Soul, winner of the Wando S. and Plate Trial S., both at Woodbine.

Fipke will also have another homebred in the Breeders' Cup with Jersey Town in the $1 million Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1), Saturday's seventh race.

The 5-year-old chestnut horse turned in his best race of his career in the 2010 Cigar Mile H. (G1). Since then, he was second in the Grade 1 Forego S. at Saratoga. He has been off the board only once in 15 starts, amassing $483,001 in earnings.

Both Perfect Shirl and Jersey Town are trained by Roger Attfield.
