Despite a solid first book of 100 mares in 2009, the 2010 stud fee for Grade 1 winner Nobiz Like Shobiz has been reduced from $7,500 to $2,500 by his owner Elizabeth Valando.
“The decision was made after talking with many breeders,” said Mrs. Valando. “The stallion market has been hit hardest at $10,000 and under, so I wanted to be extremely sensitive to their needs. I feel like at $2,500, Nobiz Like Shobiz offers breeders a real value, while also giving him the best chance to succeed at stud.”
Added John Phillips, Darby Dan owner: “I think at $2,500 breeders cannot overlook this young, handsome Grade 1 winner."
A Valando homebred, Nobiz Like Shobiz was a top juvenile of his class and went on to win graded stakes on both dirt and turf as a 3-year-old, including the Wood Memorial (G1).
