Matter of Fact was all business in his debut on July 15, drawing off to an eye-catching 7 1/4-length maiden special weight victory going five furlongs at Mountaineer Park.

The dark bay Magna Graduate colt, trained by Tim Schuh for Preston Stables LLC, was in second until straightening for home, when he powerfully galloped away from the competition to be much the best.

Matter of Fact was bred in Ohio by Elisabeth Alexander, who also owned Magna Graduate. Darby Dan consigned and sold Matter of Fact to Preston as a short yearling at the 2012 Keeneland January Horses of All Ages sale.

A top-30 Freshman sire of 2012, Magna Graduate's 2013 runners have moved him up to 20th on the 2013 Second Crop sire list, with $75,000 Instant Racing S. winner Blueeyesintherein his leading earner this year.
