Legend in the making: Tale of Ekati
RSS Feeds Friday, August 15, 2014

Freshman stallion Tale of Ekati sired his fifth two-year-old winner today, when Legend of Tutu led every step of the way in a maiden special weight at Finger Lake.

The 2-year-old filly was making her second career start in the 5 1/2-furlong event over the main track. When the gates opened, she blasted to the lead, and never looked back, hitting the wire 3/4 of a length in front of six pursuers.

Bred in Ohio by Deborah Kopatz and Charles Fipke, Legend of Tutu was sold by Darby Dan at the 2013 Keeneland September Sale, and again at this year's OBS April sale. She is owned by River Card Stable and trained by James Acquino.

Tale of Ekati has already sired five winners in three countries. The millionaire miler stood the 2014 season at Darby Dan for $15,000 live foal.
