Darby Dan stallion Perfect Soul has enjoyed a strong July full of maiden winners in Canada and the United States, and his well-bred 3-year-old son King of Soul closed out the month as the latest impressive maiden winner.

On July 30th, King of Soul captured a $34,000 maiden special weight at Monmouth Park in his second lifetime start for trainer Barclay Tagg and owner Charles Fipke, who bred the bay colt out of the Kingmambo mare Thislillightofmine. King of Soul ran 1 1/8 miles in 1:52.41 over a fast dirt track and earned $21,600 for the win.
