Magna Graduate got his latest stakes winner on Saturday evening when Jessica's Star, making his first lifetime start in a stakes, battled to a well-earned neck victory in the $75,000 Prairie Mile S. over a muddy racetrack (VIDEO).

After a tough beginning, the 3-year-old Michael Stidham trainee got a very wide trip the entire mile. Despite the considerable obstacles, Jessica's Star rallied down the middle of the stretch to finish the trip in a very good 1:37.88 over a track playing slow and deep.

Owned by Mark Breen, Jessica's Star has never been worse than second in five starts, winning at 5 ½, 7 and now 8 furlongs.

Jessica's Star is out of the unraced Dynaformer mare Bimini Knot, a daughter of the top-class mare Hitch, winner of three stakes and $425,000 in the early 1990s. Jessica's Star, who is Magna Graduate's leading earner of 2014, has now bankrolled $125,600.
