A B G Mostro's strong surge in deep stretch carried the 3-year-old Jersey Town colt to his maiden victory March 17 at Gulfstream Park.

After stalking the pace for the first six furlong, Carlos Montalvo swung the dark bay four-wide in midstretch to take the lead in the final strides, winning by a half-length over Family Justice.

The winner was bred in Kentucky by Charles Fipke and is owned by Luis Quercia.

Jersey Town, who is available in 2017 on Darby Dan's Breed Secure program, is the sire of Bee Jersey, runner-up in the UAE 2000 Guineas (G3) and likely starter in the UAE Derby (G2), as well as the undefeated 3-year-old filly Lucky Lorretta.
