One day after freshman sire Dialed In got his first stakes winner, the Darby Dan stallion notched his fourth winner when Gunnevera rallied for a three-quarter length victory in a maiden special weight Saturday at Gulfstream Park.

With a tussle for the lead developing soon after the break, Gunnevera was well off the pace for the backstretch run and was still six lengths off the lead coming into the stretch. Gunnevera found his best stride in the final furlong, finishing full of run to roll past Legacy Azteca to secure the win.

Gunnevera was bred in Kentucky by Brandywine Farm and Stephen Upchurch and is owned by Peacock Racing Stables LLC.

Dialed In now has four winners from his first crop, with Ruffenuff winning the Princess Margaret S. on Firday and maiden special weight winners at Churchill Downs and Santa Anita Park. After being bred to 352 mares in the previous three seasons, Dialed In stood in 2016 for $7,500 live foal, stands and nurses.
