GSW Magna Graduate filly crushes elders in Churchill feature

Blueeyesintherein, Magna Graduate's undefeated 2-year-old filly of 2012, cruised to an easy 4 ¾-length victory against older fillies and mares in the $55,860 featured allowance race on Thursday, June 13 at Churchill Downs - the same scene as her flawless 2-year-old campaign that saw her win last year's Debutante S. (G3).

Trained by Garry Simms and ridden by Leandro Goncalves, Blueeyesintherein - the lone 3-year-old in the field - dashed six furlongs in 1:11 flat over a fast local main track, hitting the wire all alone.

Owned and raced by Dorothy Self, Barry King and Travis Morgeson V LLC, Blueeyesintherein stalked pacesetter Teroda early Thursday before pulling Goncalves to the lead nearing the top of the stretch. She increased her advantage to two lengths by the eighth-pole and then drew off effortlessly over her more experienced rivals, adding to her impressive resume at Churchill.

The dark bay daughter of Magna Graduate improved her career record to 4-0-0 from five starts with earnings of $184,556. Her lone defeat came when she finished fifth in the Eight Belles S. (G3) on Kentucky Oaks Day. Earlier this year, she won the Instant Racing S. at Oaklawn Park.
