Jersey Town, the Grade 1-winning miler by leading sire Speightstown, sired his first foal when a filly was born the morning of Friday, Jan. 10 at Pennland Farm in Paris, KY.

Bred by John Penn, the filly is out of the Langfuhr mare I’lltakeit, a three-quarter sister to Grade 1 winner Military. Her second dam is the top producer Battle Creek Girl.

Jersey Town, who hails from the three-time Grade 1-winning mare Jersey Girl, is set to stand his second season in 2014 at Darby Dan Farm in Lexington, KY for a fee of $10,000 stands and nurses. Owned and bred by Charles Fipke, Jersey Town was a multiple graded stakes winner, including winning the Cigar Mile (G1), and earner of $819,668 on the racetrack.
