Shackleford's first lot through the ring during the Tuesday session of the Keeneland September Yearling sale brought a winning bid $200,000 from International Equities Holding, Ltd.

Beau Lane Bloodstock was the consignor of hip No. 291, a Kentucky-bred colt out of Grandtessa. Her first foal, the 2-year-old colt Salmanazar, who is also by Shackleford, is undefeated in two starts this year.

Shackleford is the leading Second-Crop sire of 2017 by winners, with 53 to date. His progeny have earned nearly $3 million this year.

Shackleford has a total of 33 lots cataloged in the Keeneland sale, which runs through Sept. 23.
