The first mare covered from the debut book of multiple Grade 1 winner Tale of Ekati was pronounced in foal over the weekend.

Sea Breezer, a stakes-winning and stakes-producing Gulch mare, was confirmed in foal to Tale of Ekati at Jim and Pam Robinson's Brandywine Farm. The mare, owned by Brandywine Farm along with Rob Whiteley's Liberation Farm, finished second in the Spinaway S. (G1) as a 2-year-old at Saratoga. She is a three-quarter sister to Mogambo and hails from Lakeville Miss, a four-time Grade 1 winner and champion 2-year-old. Sea Breezer has produced millionaire Hagino Bel Tempo and stakes winner Shore Breeze.

Tale of Ekati was a Grade 2 winner at two and went on to capture the Wood Memorial (G1) over champion War Pass early as a 3-year-old. Later at three, he developed into a premier miler, winning the Jerome H. (G2) and defeating older horses in the Cigar Mile (G1) to become a millionaire.

Owned and campaigned by Charles Fipke, Tale of Ekati is standing his first season at stud at John Phillips' Darby Dan Farm in Lexington. His fee is $15,000 stands and nurses.
