Eye of Taurus, a Darby Dan Farm sales graduate, became a graded stakes winner in her stakes debut on Oct. 23rd, digging in to determinedly win the $125,000 Valley View S. (G3) at Keeneland Race Course.

The victory was a strong one according to the Beyer Speed Figure, as the bay filly earned a 94. The quality of the field, along with the solid final time of 1:46.49 for 1 1/16 miles over a yielding course, made for an impressive win in Eye of Taurus’s first attempt in a stakes. She is trained by Kiaran McLaughlin for owner Harvey Clarke, who purchased the filly for $170,000 as a yearling at Keeneland September from Darby Dan’s consignment. Eye of Taurus has now earned $181,430 for her owner, winning four races and finishing third three times from 13 starts.

By Aldebaran out of the Silver Hawk mare Ocean Shore, Eye of Taurus was bred in Kentucky by T. Wayne Sweeney & Patrick Lawley-Wakelin, who Darby Dan sold the filly for at Keeneland.
