Eye of Taurus became the latest stakes-winning Darby Dan sales grad with a handy score in the $76,650 Revidere S. Sept. 11 at Monmouth Park. This was the second stakes victory for Eye of Taurus; she won the Grade 3 Valley View S. at Keeneland last October.
Eye of Taurus, a 4-year-old filly, was part of Darby Dan's consignment to the 2007 Keeneland September yearling sale, where she sold for $170,000 to Jun Park, agent. The bay filly was bred in Kentucky by T. Wayne Sweeney and Patrick Lawley-Wakelin.
From the second crop of champion sprinter Aldebaran, out of the Silver Hawk mare Ocean Shore, Eye of Taurus recorded her fifth win in 18 starts. She has now earned $249,630 for her owner Harvey A Clarke. She is trained by Kiaran McLaughlin.
Darby Dan Sales consignments have already produced ten stakes winners of 2010, including Graded stakes winners Funny Moon-G2, Lord Shanakill-G2, Aurora Lights-G3, Bearpath-G3, and Taqarub-G3.
