Excessivespending stormed home a 2 3/4-length maiden special weight winner Saturday at Oaklawn Park despite being geared down under a hand ride in the final sixteenth of a mile.

The 3-year-old filly is the 14th winner this year for Shackleford, second-best among all Second-Crop sires of 2017. 

Excessivespending covered the six furlongs in a solid 1:10.87 and picked up $43,200 for her owner Joey Keith Davis.

Out of Excessing, the winner is a half-sister to stakes winner Sweet Marini and was bred in Kentucky by BMWZ Stables.
