First-time starter Potential Diva showed disdain for her field today, running off with a 5 1/2-furlong maiden special weight race at River Downs today.

The dark bay filly from the first crop by Suave and out of Rokeby Lynn, by Silver Deputy was no secret to the crowd, who made her 90 cents on the dollar to earn the victory. And she did not disappoint, breaking first and leading every step of the way, finishing 5 ¼ lengths clear at the wire.

Potential Diva was bred by her owner, Daniel J. Yates, and is trained by William Cowans.

Suave has now sired four maiden special winners and a stakes winner from his first crop to race. He stood the 2010 season at Darby Dan for $12,500.
